AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly set to double his wages with a new contract that will keep him at the club until he is 40 years old.

Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan in January on a short-term deal but he has now been offered a one-year extension with the option of a further year, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Sweden international could earn £104,000 a week if appearance and performance related targets are met.

Since returning to Milan Ibrahimovic has scored 10 goals in 19 appearances, which included a brace against Sampdoria this week.

Despite being 38, Ibrahimovic isn't showing any signs of slowing down and appears determined to carry on making a major impact for Milan.

Ibrahimovic initially joined Milan on loan from Barcelona in 2010 and made the move permanent a year later.

Having left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2012, Ibrahimovic subsequently had spells with Manchester United and LA Galaxy before heading back to the San Siro.

Milan will conclude their Serie A season on Saturday when they host Cagliari. They have already secured a place in the second qualifying round of the Europa League for next season.
