Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to make yet another television appearance next week, after making a guest appearance at the Sanremo Festival last year, despite still being yet to play a minute of Serie A football this season.

The Swedish giant is set to host the long-running satirical Italian-language programme, Striscia la Notzia, on Monday 21 November.

Striscia la Notizia has been broadcast on Italian television for over 30 years, and in hosting the show - owned by a company founded by his former AC Milan president  Silvio Burlusconi - Ibrahimovic will become the first Serie A player to do so.

The 41-year-old's special guest appearance will come at 8.35pm on Canale 5 on Monday.

The AC Milan star will be the guest of honour and co-host alongside Sergio Friscia and Roberto Lipari.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibrahimovic's move into TV hosting could potentially signal a change in his future in the country.

With his 42nd birthday coming in less than a year, it is difficult to see how Ibrahimovic can continue with his playing career, and an appearance on one of Italy's oldest and best-loved satirical news programmes could mark the start of a new career path for the Swede.

The experienced striker's first association with Antonio Ricci's Striscia a Notizia came back in 2011, when Ibrahimovic was the recipient of a 'Tapiro d’oro' (Golden Tapir), awarded to celebrities and prominent figures who have made a fool of themselves publicly.

The 41-year-old maiden "honour" was granted him when he was sent off for the second time in two matches over a decade ago, during his first spell at the club.

Ibrahimovic will also be presenting a new edition of his book, Adrenaline, in bookshops from 22 November, in which he details Milan's Scudetto victory last season, as well as the physical ordeal he has undergone to return to full fitness after a career plagued by numerous injuries.
