Major League Soccer released their roster for the 2023 MLS All-Star Game set to take place next month.
The roster of All-Stars will take on Premier League side Arsenal in a one-off exhibition game at Audi Field in Washington, DC on July 19.
This team will be coached by DC United manager Wayne Rooney - who is in the midst of his first full season in charge of the club in the nation's capital.
Rooney picked 12 of the players on this roster with another 12 being voted on by the fans, the media, and players.
The final two spots were picked by MLS Commissioner Don Garber to round out a roster of 26 players.
Amongst those voted in include eight of the top ten goal scorers in the league currently.
That includes top scorer Hany Mukhtar of Nashville SC as well as forwards Denis Bouanga of Los Angeles FC, Georgios Giakoumakis of Atlanta United, and Jesus Ferreira of FC Dallas.
Six of the selections on this roster were recent callups to the United States men's national team and are representing their country in the Gold Cup.
That includes the aforementioned Ferreira as well as forward Jordan Morris of the Seattle Sounders, midfielder Aidan Morris of Columbus Crew SC, and defenders Walker Zimmerman of Nashville, Matt Miazga of FC Cincinnati and the New York Red Bulls' John Tolkin.
Some notable snubs from this list include Philadelphia Union forward Julian Carranza - who is tied for the third most goals in the league - as well as midfielder Carles Gil of the New England Revolution and FC Cincinnati defender Yerson Mosquera.
The MLS All-Star Game will be preceded by a skills challenge taking place the day prior to the match.
While not a surprise that he isn't on the roster, MLS could decide to have incoming Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi as a part of the ceremonies or the game in a non-playing capacity.
The All-Star game takes place two days before Messi is set to make his Inter Miami debut against Cruz Azul in an expanded Leagues Cup competition between MLS and Liga MX teams.
