'Former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli emerges as top Spurs target'

According to English media, newly-resigned Ajax coach Francesco Farioli is on Tottenham's radar.

36-year-old Farioli announced his departure from Ajax on Monday after one season in charge. The Italian gaffer cited disagreements with the club's executive board as the reason behind his sudden departure.

The Amsterdam giants failed to redeem a 9-point lead in the Eredivisie and saw rivals PSV win a second-straight title on Sunday.

The Sun says Farioli, a former disciple of Roberto De Zerbi, is being considered by Tottenham Hotspur as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou. While Postecoglou has led Tottenham to this week's Europa League final against Manchester United, his team sit one place outside the dropzone, with the relegation places now settled.

Farioli is emerging as a potential replacement for the Australian at Spurs, where Fabio Paratici is a big fan. Paratici is in talks about a return to Tottenham this summer when his worldwide ban ends after getting caught up in Juventus' accountancy issues.

Paratici is said to have recommended fellow Italian Farioli to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
