According to Le Parisien, Matvei Safonov’s (25) transfer from Krasnodar to PSG is not expected to suffer any issues despite an ongoing legal dispute over unpaid debt involving the goalkeeper in Russia.
Safonov has been banned from leaving his homeland after legal proceedings involving a child custody case have ordered him to pay €620,000 in unpaid alimony to his ex-partner, according to RMC Sport. Until the outstanding debts have been paid, the 25-year-old will be unable to leave Russia.
Despite these legal proceedings, it should not prohibit his transfer to the Ligue 1 champions being finalised. The goalkeeper plans to appeal the final decision made in the legal case and pay the outstanding alimony. This should allow his transfer to PSG to go through. Les Parisiens are also planning to have the Russian international stopper available for when they begin preseason preparations on the 15th of July, Le Parisien report.
