The mother of Manchester United's Marcos Rojo has appeared to confirm the defender's prospective loan move to Argentinian club Estudiantes.

Rojo's mum, Maria Carina Arellano, has taken to Instagram to publish an emotional post about Rojo's return to his homeland.

MEN Sport understands Rojo is on the brink of a loan move to the end of the season with Estudiantes, where he will link up with former United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron who is their manager.

His agent Kristian Bereit, was pictured by MEN photographers arriving at the club's Carrington training ground on Thursday morning (January 30th) as all parties look to iron out the details of the move.

Rojo's mother posted a picture of the 29-year-old in an Estudiantes shirt — he played for the Argentine side at the start of his career between 2008 and 2010 — with a personal message to her son.

It translates as: "I'll start the day, come home as long as this time. Welcome to your home, to the arms of your mother that draws you so much.

"I wish you the best in your return to your dear Estudiantes, may God bless you and enlighten you, I love you with my soul. Mami."

Rojo looks set to bring to an end a five and a half year stay at United, though not on a permanent basis. It's expected that United will cover some of his wages to allow the temporary deal to go through.

Rojo has made 76 league appearances for United since agreeing a £16million move from Sporting in the summer of 2014. He's made a further 26 appearances in domestic and European cup competitions and scored two goals in his United career.
