No shockers there at all, really. Each of these are high profile players, many of which are playing the best soccer of their careers. Other players that could be in the running for a spot are guys like Alex Sandro and Douglas Costa of Juventus, as there are only 15 of the 23 spots decided. But why come out and say this? Those 15 surely know their spots are set barring injury, but this could be a wise tactic to serve as motivation for those who are in the running. It's "play, and play well," a chance to make a name for the rest of the season leading up to the cup to warrant a spot.
