Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka claims his former team-mate Robert Lewandowski was 'spoiled' during his time with the German side.
The Polish striker, who finished fourth in the recent Ballon d'Or voting, completed a £39m (€45m) move from Munich to Barcelona in the summer having pushed for an exit from the club.
And now, ahead of the two sides meeting in the Champions League, Lewandowski's old friend has goaded the striker and warned that the Bundesliga side will be doing 'everything to win'.
According to BILD, Goretzka said: 'Lewy was very spoiled at Bayern, always being at least in the round of 16 and progressing. But now we can no longer take that into account.
'If we play against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou, it can be a preparatory game or a Champions League final, it doesn't matter!
'It's going to be a super cool game that we're looking forward to. And we will also do everything to win it.'
The pressure will be off Munich on Wednesday night, who have already secured qualification to the next round.
Meanwhile, Barcelona sit three points behind Inter Milan and will need three points to stand a chance of progressing.
Fellow Bayern star Eric Choupo-Moting added fuel to the fire as he warned Lewandowski that it'll be Barca's 'last chance' to reach the round of 16.
'It's their last chance. I'm definitely looking forward to the game and to Lewy,' the Cameroon forward said.
'He's a world-class player and a great guy. Playing against Barcelona is always something special.'
The Catalan side are in desperate need of three points on Wednesday night after a turbulent Group C campaign thus far.
Their only win has come against Czech side FC Viktoria Plzeň and they've fallen to defeat in two out of the other three games. A dramatic Lewandowski brace rescued a point for Barca during their 3-3 draw with Inter Milan this month.
As it stands, if Inter beat Plzeň and Barcelona lose to Bayern on Wednesday then Xavi's side will be demoted to the Europa League.
