Former England international Jack Wilshere has hailed his former team-mate Cesc Fabregas' advice, as they were reunited at Arsenal's training ground this week.

Fabregas, who is currently still playing for Serie B side Como, returned to the Gunners' London Colney training base to work alongside under-18s manager Wilshere.

The 35-year-old midfielder, who is in the middle of a mid-season break, used his time wisely by working with his former club's academy staff to gain some coaching experience over the last few days.

Wilshere, who played alongside Fabregas between 2008 and 2011 before the latter departed for LaLiga giants Barcelona, was completely blown away once again by Spaniard.

The former West Ham and Bournemouth midfielder turned manager took to Instagram to show his appreciation to Fabregas for his advice, just like when they were playing together under Arsene Wenger.

And Wilshere, 31, is no doubt hoping his advice can help his under-18s team improve their fortunes after struggling so far this season.

Wilshere's Instagram post read: 'Learning from the best football brain I know!

'As a player I wish I had the chance to play with this guy for longer but having the chance to pick his brain about certain situations and how he thinks about the game is invaluable. Thank you.'

The former Chelsea midfielder replied: 'Thanks for helping me out man. You are the best.'

Fabregas will now return to Como ahead of a return to playing action, having made nine appearances this season, but has only managed one assist since joining the Italian outfit during the summer.

The Serie B side have not been in action since Boxing Day allowing him the chance to work at his former club to gain some experience, as he has previously revealed his intentions to go into coaching or management after he finishes playing.

He told Sky Sports during the summer: 'When I become a coach, as I have said, the Premier League has been my league, it is where I played my best football, my best years, where people respect me so much.

'I feel really loved in England and, in the future, I would love [to coach there], why not? I'd love to [be a Premier League manager], 100 per cent.

'If I can look at a target in some years to come, then definitely, this is in my head.'
