Oliver Kahn speaks for the first time on the big stage today at his presentation as a board member of FC Bayern. Club president Herbert Hainer also present.
The exguardameta will be a member of the Board of Directors and in 2021 will replace Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
At his presentation today, Kahn said: "14 years at Bayern was a very long time, with a lot of emotions and experiences. The club's DNA is so deep inside. I was involved in all major highlights after 2008. A lot of things have changed, but the club's DNA is the same. It's a great challenge to continue this success."
"It's no secret that I had a lot of conversations to get an insight, but I didn't want to overdo it in order to be able to tackle the tasks completely impartially. Starting today, 100 percent FC Bayern begin. We have set up a clear process for the coming months."
"I have been interested in business since the end of my career and even before. I started my studies and developed in many areas. Running employees and running a company, you can't learn that at any university. This package gives me a lot of confidence for the tasks ahead."
"We want to be top wherever we are. We want to be number 1 wherever we are. We want to be an excellent experience for our fans, world-class football and number one in all areas. I have that in mind. Everyone at Bayern think in the same direction. That is Bayern's aspiration."
