Las Palmas 'target Barca 20-year-old midfielder Puig on loan in January'

Las Palmas have made an enquiry to Barcelona about potentially taking 20-year-old midfielder Riqui Puig on loan in the January transfer window.

Puig has grown frustrated with the fact that he is only featuring for Barcelona's B team, whilst also admitting that he rarely even trains with the first team at the Catalan giants nowadays.

The Canary Island club, meanwhile, are looking for a talented player to help replace Jonathan Viera, whose loan spell comes to an end on December 31, and potentially Inigo Ruiz de Galaretta, according to Quim Domenech on 'El Chiringuito de Jugones'.

There is a good relationship between Barcelona and Las Palmas, with the two clubs having recently reached an agreement for Pedri to head to the Camp Nou next summer.

"No, [I won't leave in January] in theory no, but we will see," Puig said after Barcelona B's 0-0 draw with Andorra.

"I haven't closed the door, but it is true that I would like to have more minutes [with the senior side].

"There are a lot of players [in midfield] and it is hard for me to have those minutes, and if I don't have them then I will have a decision to make."
