Manchester City have officially completed the signing of highly rated youngster Claudio Gomes from PSG, and the starlet has been thrust straight into first-team training.
Gomes had to wait until Monday to formally complete his deal with City, as he turned 18 and was eligible for a professional contract in English football.
The midfielder has joined up with his new team-mate on pre-season tour in New York and has already been getting to grips with the Pep Guardiola system.
'He has been so good, so good,' Guardiola said of his latest acquisition, as report City Watch.
'My opinion is that at that age you have to play. You need minutes, if not with us then with the second team.
'It could be like what happened with Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz – he could stay with us, because from what we have seen in these days, the impression is good, so good.'
Guardiola is believed to be focused on keeping Gomes in and around the City first team while he learns the ropes, before deciding where the player should be around January time.
City were able to snap the youngster up on a free transfer after his contract with the French club expired at the end of June.
Gomes came through the youth ranks at PSG but never made a senior appearance for the Ligue 1 club.
