Ever since he arrived from Flamengo in January this year, AC Milan have had high hopes for Lucas Paqueta. However, even though the Brazilian youngster has done well, he hasn't been able to reach his full potential just yet.
In an interview with Sky Italia (via Calciomercato.com), Milan legend Serginho spoke about his compatriot. To the former left-back, it's just a question of adapting to Italian football, then Paqueta will live up to the hype.
“I saw him play many times in Brazil. I call him 'the new Messi'. I see a Paqueta that must be more calm and grow. Italian football is a lot more difficult.
“He plays like he's in a five-a-side team, with the ball under his foot. He still hasn't been able to take the step and switch from Brazilian to Italian football,” Serginho concluded.
