Abraham should be looking to leave Chelsea this summer, insists Carlton Cole

Tammy Abraham should be looking for a way out of Chelsea this summer because Thomas Tuchel 'doesn't fancy him', according to Carlton Cole.

The 23-year-old has barely featured for the Blues since the German's arrival in January, making just two appearances for the club after the middle of February and being left out of the squad for the FA Cup and Champions League finals.

Abraham has netted 30 goals in 82 appearances for Chelsea since breaking into the first team five years ago, but has also spent three of the seasons since out on loan at Bristol City, Swansea and Aston Villa.

The England international was reportedly involved in a rejected player-plus-cash bid from Chelsea for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland earlier this month, while Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked.

And former West Ham and England striker Cole believes Abraham should aim to become 'the main man' elsewhere with Tuchel having made his feelings on him clear.

'You get to a point where you have got to know your worth,' Cole told talkSPORT.

'He has gone on loan and done really well at Aston Villa, Swansea and came back to Chelsea and done well. They still don't value him the way they should do and the way he feels he should be valued.

'He didn't play at the backend of last season and he is not in Thomas Tuchel's plans obviously because he didn't play.

'Tuchel doesn't fancy him and I would look at other options if I were him and say, ''let me go and be the main man somewhere''.'

Sportsmail reported back in May that West Ham and Leicester were also interested in Abraham, but the £40m asking price is considered too steep by the Hammers while the Foxes have signed Patson Daka from RB Salzburg instead.

Abraham - who is keen to win his place back in England squad ahead of next year's Qatar World Cup after being omitted by Gareth Southgate for Euro 2020 - was remarkably joint second top scorer for the Blues in the Premier League 2020-21 despite being frozen out by Tuchel.

His six goals were matched by Mason Mount and Timo Werner, with Jorginho's seven penalties beating them all.

Abraham was also on target in Chelsea's first pre-season game of the summer, scoring the equaliser against Peterborough before Tuchel's men romped to a 6-1 victory.
