Auxerre keen on loan return for Gaëtan Perrin as Monaco enquire

AJ Auxerre are interested in bringing Gaëtan Perrin back to Ligue 1, just six months after the winger left the club to join FC Krasnodar, according to L’Équipe. AS Monaco have also made enquiries over a possible move.

Perrin (29) moved to Russia last summer after establishing himself as an important attacking outlet for Auxerre, but his adaptation has not gone as hoped. Despite featuring in 20 matches in all competitions this season, the Frenchman has struggled to fully settle at Krasnodar, where he remains under contract until 2028.

A winter return to France is therefore being considered, with Auxerre keen on a loan deal until the end of the season. Perrin left a strong impression during his previous spell in Burgundy, and the Ligue 2 side believe he could provide a significant boost in the second half of the campaign.

However, Krasnodar are not currently receptive to the idea of a loan exit. The Russian club are reluctant to sanction a temporary departure, despite the player’s mixed first half of the season.

Elsewhere, AS Monaco have also made enquiries in recent days. Thanks to the close relationship between the ownership of Monaco and Krasnodar, initial discussions have taken place, although the Ligue 1 club have yet to accelerate their interest.GFFN | George Boxall
