According to John Percy of The Daily Telegraph, Nottingham Forest are pushing hard for the transfer of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Bergvall and are preparing to submit a second bid of approximately £45 million.

New manager Glasner plans to significantly strengthen the squad this summer, and the highly-rated Swedish international has become Forest's top transfer target. With Elliot Anderson's British record-breaking £116 million move to Manchester City, Forest hopes to quickly bring in a young midfielder and sees Bergvall as their first choice.
Reports indicate that Forest submitted an initial bid of around £38 million last week, but it was rejected by Tottenham Hotspur, whose valuation of the player is closer to £50 million. Therefore, Forest are preparing to increase their offer in hopes of completing the deal.
It is understood that despite Bergvall renewing his contract with Tottenham Hotspur in April, he has expressed his desire to leave the club due to concerns about consistent first-team opportunities under De Zerbi. With Tottenham Hotspur spending nearly £200 million this summer, signing Tonali and Matheus Fernandes from Newcastle United and West Ham United respectively, Bergvall believes his competition for places has further intensified.
De Zerbi has communicated with Bergvall, hoping to alleviate his concerns, but the 20-year-old Swedish midfielder is still looking for new development opportunities, and Forest are hoping to capitalize on this to complete the signing.
Bergvall participated in the World Cup with Sweden this summer and made his first start of the tournament in the last-32 match against France, though Sweden ultimately lost 0-3 and failed to advance further.
In addition to Bergvall, Forest has also been linked with Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, but he is not a priority target at this stage, and the player himself is evaluating other options.
Glasner hopes to complete at least four signings this summer, with central defense also being a key area for reinforcement, as he plans to adopt a three-at-the-back system next season.
Forest's first signing of the summer is expected to be former RB Leipzig midfielder Schlager, who will join on a free transfer and sign a two-year contract with a one-year extension option.
Meanwhile, Forest also hopes to retain its existing core squad. Welsh international Neco Williams is close to completing a contract extension, and Ivorian midfielder Sangare is also in advanced talks for a new contract, expected to be extended beyond his current deal which expires in 2028.
