Inter to 'focus on signing strikers during this summers transfer window'

  /  autty

Inter's upcoming summer transfer window is one that is built from the attacking department, according to a report from today's paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are sure to sell 27-year-old Argentine striker Mauro Icardi in the summer, whether it's to French giants Paris Saint Germain or another interested team, such as Real Madrid. This money will be reinvested into the club for the transfer market, with the focus being particularly in attack.

Considering Barcelona's desperation to sign striker Lautaro Martinez, the report continues, Inter are working to find alternatives in case of his departure. Alexis Sanchez will return to Manchester United in the summer, due to the dry loan, and considering his wage demands it's not easy to imagine a return to Inter for him.

Esposito will turn 18 and sign a professional contract until 2025, the report highlights, but coach Antonio Conte may decide to send him out on loan in order to develop more, rather than spending more time on the bench.

Inter's management are still working on sign Belgian striker Dries Mertens, who will be a free agent in the summer, as well as Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud. Other options for Inter include Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, RB Leipzig's Timo Werner and Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann, who could be included in the Lautaro deal.
