Lille have entered advanced talks with Türkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahçe over the signing of Brazilian international centre-back Diego Carlos (32), as per Foot Mercato. The 32-year-old would make his return in Ligue 1 after spending three seasons with FC Nantes, between 2016 and 2019. Diego Carlos then signed for Sevilla FC, with which he won the 2020 Europa League.
Diego Carlos joined Fenerbahçe from Aston Villa during the 2025 winter transfer window, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with José Mourinho’s side. Diego Carlos’ playing time has significantly decreased as Fenerbahçe signed Milan Skriniar from PSG. Lille and Fenerbahçe are finalising a loan move with an option to make Diego Carlos’ move to Lille permanent. The Brazilian has already agreed to join Les Dogues, who were in desperate need of a centre-back after parting ways with Bafodé Diakité.
