The millionaire club wants to have the player, who has been agreed upon by Real Madrid.
River Plate announced its squad list for the Club World Cup on Tuesday afternoon. The most notable inclusion is Franco Mastantuono , a player who already has an agreement (although official confirmation is pending) with Real Madrid, who were also initially interested in having the Argentine at the tournament in the United States.
'Mastantuono' is on 'Muñeco' Gallardo's extensive squad for the Club World Cup, wearing the number 30 shirt. The presence of the 17-year-old Argentinian talent on the millionaire club's roster could also be a measure of pressure on Real Madrid , who are still negotiating the payment of Mastantuono's release clause, set at 45 million euros.
As reported, Real Madrid will pay €41m for Franco Mastantuono, and NOT the €45m release clause.
The Buenos Aires team will make its World Cup debut against Urawa Reds of Japan next Tuesday. The Monumental club's other opponents in this summer's FIFA World Cup debut are Monterrey and Inter Milan , the current European runners-up.
