OFFICIAL: Angel Correa joins Tigres after ten years Atletico career

  /  NuclearSA

Ángel ends his spell with the Rojiblancos as the Club’s sixth-highest appearance-maker in history and with one LaLiga, one Europa League and one European Super Cup title to his name.

Atlético de Madrid and Tigres UANL have reached an agreement that will see Ángel Correa join the Mexican outfit.

As such, the Argentinian forward now begins a new challenge, thereby putting an end to his ten-and-a-half season spell with the Rojiblancos. Throughout his time with Atleti, he made 469 competitive appearances, putting him at sixth in the all-time appearance list (second-highest for a foreign player) in the Club’s history.

He scored a total of 88 goals and registered 65 assists during his time here, two of which are particularly memorable: our last-ever goal at the Vicente Caldreón, against Athletic Club, and that toe-poke to kick-start our comeback away at Valladolid on the day we were crowned champions of Spain 2020/21. Before that league title, Correa won the 2017/18 Europa League and the 2018 European Super Cup with the Rojiblancos. During his time at the Club, he also won three major honours with Argentina: the Copa América in 2021, the Finalissima in 2022 and the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

From all of us at Atlético de Madrid, we would like to thank Ángel Correa for his commitment and effort throughout his time at the Club. We wish him all the best for his future professional and personal endeavours.
