Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Ritsu Doan. The Japanese international comes to Hesse from Bundesliga club SC Freiburg, where he will wear the shirt number 20.
The 27-year-old attacker began his football career at Gamba Osaka. In 2017, the first step abroad followed. Doan spent a total of four seasons in the Netherlands. He made a total of 130 competitive appearances for FC Groningen and PSV Eindhoven, scoring 29 goals and providing 13 assists. In the meantime, the Japanese player played on loan in the Bundesliga at Arminia Bielefeld. In the 2020/21 season, he contributed to the relegation with five goals and three assists.
In the summer of 2022, Doan moved to SC Freiburg, where he matured into a seasoned Bundesliga player. He was on the pitch in 123 competitive games for the Breisgau team, in which he scored 26 goals and provided 23 assists. Last season, Doan played a major role in qualifying for the European Cup with ten goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga.
Ritsu Doan is also a permanent fixture in the Japanese national team. Since his debut in 2018, he has made 57 appearances, scored ten goals and provided nine assists for his home country.
