Slovakian international striker Róbert Boženík has signed for Stoke City.

The 25-year-old former Feyenoord forward joins from Portuguese side FC Boavista on a three-year contract.

Boženík has been capped by his country on 52 occasions, including four appearances at the European Championship finals in 2024, scoring seven goals.

He won the prestigious Peter Dubovsky Award for Slovakia’s top young footballer in 2019, was Boavista’s Player of the Season in 23/24 and has netted 26 goals in 87 starts during his time in Holland, Germany and Portugal.

Sporting Director Jonathan Walters said: “Robert is a player we’ve followed closely for a while. He’s a hardworking, selfless striker with international experience and the quality to make a real impact here.

“We’re pleased to have moved decisively to bring him in ahead of several clubs, from top leagues, who were strongly interested in him.

“He’s intelligent, versatile and brings a real team-first mentality both in and out of possession.

“He represents the kind of character and work ethic we want in our team, and the type of player our supporters value and want to see wearing the shirt.”

Bozenik, who is City’s sixth signing of the summer, added: “Stoke City supporters can be sure that I will always work really hard for the team and will never stop trying to find ways to score goals.

“I had really good impressions from the owner of the Club, the Sporting Director and also the Manager. I felt a lot of trust and that was very important to me.

“I have seen the job the Manager has done with other strikers who are now playing at the highest level, and the small details he spoke about excited me for this challenge and played a big part in why I wanted to join the Potters.”
