Barcelona might be going through a rough patch on and off the pitch, but Joan Laporta is still working behind the scenes on possible reinforcements for future transfer windows, with Porto winger Luis Diaz being the latest name added to his list of targets.
The Colombian international has been in excellent form for Porto, and Barcelona are not the only club who have taken notice.
In seven Liga Bwin games so far in 2021/22, the 24-year-old has five goals and one assist, with the Dragons going unbeaten and sitting second, level with Sporting CP and one point behind leaders Benfica.
Barcelona are obviously a little restricted just now in terms of finances, but it is expected that Diaz would cost a relatively reasonable 30 million euros. With his talent and potential and affordability compared to the other players on the market, Diaz ticks a lot of boxes for Laporta.
The winger could have his choice of clubs when the time comes, especially if he continues to impress in Portugal, meaning the Blaugrana could have a fight on their hands to win his signature. Other clubs may be able to offer higher wages, but Laporta will make his pitch and hope he can entice Diaz into giving the squad a much-needed boost.
