Spence eyes Spurs exit amid Inter Milan interest

  /  autty

Djed Spence is seriously thinking about a transfer away from Tottenham Hotspur as he heads home from World Cup duty, where his campaign ended in a 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina.

The 25-year-old defender established himself as an important figure for England during the tournament, but his long-term prospects in north London are very uncertain.

Sources indicate that full-back is one of the positions Roberto De Zerbi is considering strengthening this summer, and new targets have already been identified and explored.

Spence already has an awareness that his future is up in the air, but he has been fully focused on his role with England.

Now, discussions are expected to take place over the next step in his career - and a possible departure from Spurs.

Sources believe a summer transfer has emerged as a very realistic possibility.

Inter Milan are among the clubs to have expressed interest already, and should that develop into a formal approach, it is believed both Spurs and Spence are open to exploring a deal.

Informal contact has already been made, we understand, and it is believed Tottenham value the player at around £30 million.

A few clubs in England are also aware of the fact he is likely to be available in the summer transfer market.

Spence has been with Tottenham since joining in 2022 and has spent time on loan at Rennes, Leeds United and Genoa.

With another move abroad a genuine option, the defender could once again be heading for a fresh challenge if opportunities at Spurs remain limited.

His Spurs teammate Cristian Romero is also being linked with Inter Milan - and sources have confirmed that the club are looking to move him on.
